The Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation attended the Congress of the Association of Asian Constitutional Court and Equivalent Institutions

On 26 and 27 of August, 2021 the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation took part in the work of the Congress of the Association of Asian Constitutional Court and Equivalent Institutions (AACC), and the International symposium "The Internet Era: the Rule of Law, the Values of Person, the State Independence". The events were organised by the Constitutional Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan presiding over AACC. They were held online.

Board of Members of the AACC discussed current issues of the Association work, approved the admission of the Constitutional Court of the of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Association, which now consists of 20 bodies of constitutional supervision. The participants discussed interaction with other international associations of constitutional courts, including the World Conference on Constitutional Justice. The Memorandum of Understanding between the AACC and the Conference of European Constitutional Courts was signed during the live broadcast.

Three sessions of the International Symposium  were devoted to current issues related to effect that modern technology has on the legal development and ensuring state independence, particularly to correlation between digitalisation and national sovereingty, guarantees for human rights and freedoms in the Internet, and increasing responsibility of state authority before society and human. The Symposium was held under the auspices of 30-year jubilee of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On this occasion the Vice-President of the Constituitonal Court of the Russian Federation Sergei Mavrin congratulated the organisers on behalf of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.

The two-day event was finalised by the ceremony of transfer of the Presidency on the AACC to the Constitutional Court of Mongolia, who will preside over the Association in 2021-2023.
