On 19 March 2014 the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation established the Crimea Accession Treaty to be in compliance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation
On 19 March 2014 the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation had pronounced the Judgment, finding the proposed Treaty between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Crimea on the latter's admission into the Russian Federation and the establishment of new constitutent entities of the Russian Federation to be in compliance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
 
The request for constitutional review of the Treaty had been submitted yesterday by the President of the Russian Federation, acting in accordance with the provision of the Federal Constitutional Law On the Admission of a Constituent Entity into the Russian Federation and the Establishment of a New Constituent Entity of the Russian Federation.
 
The Judgment has been adopted by a unanimous vote of the Court.​
