Yuri RUDKIN

Judge of the Constitutional Court

Yuri Rudkin was born on 7 November 1951 in Yaroslavl region.
In 1978 he graduated from the Yaroslavl State University with a degree in law. Upon graduation, he has been teaching and conducting research, while simultaneously enrolling into a Ph.D program at the chair of Theory of State and Law at the Kharkov Law Institute.
In 1990 Yuri Rudkin participated in elections of people's deputies of Russia. At first convocation of Council of People's Deputies of Russia he was elected a member of the Supreme Council of Russia. Served as deputy chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Supreme Council.
Member of the Constitutional Commission. Co-authored the Federal Constitutional Law On the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation.
Lawyer Emeritus of the Russian Federation.
A Judge of the Constitutional Court since October 1991.
From 13 February 1995 to 18 February 1998 he was had been the Judge-Secretary of the Constitutional Court.
